Hergetova cihelna inhereted its name from its original founder Loenard Herget who bought this place on the banks of vltava in 1780. He then proceeded to build a brickhouse as well as living quarters there. The whole complex is concidered a historical monument and is a part of the best view Prague has to offer; the view from Charles Brifge on to the rague Castle and Lesser side.
Today, we can find a restaurant, a “boathouse”, Franz Kafka museum and shop and a jewelry museum in the complex. Hergetova Cihelna is a lively and stylish restaurant, which, similarly as Kampa Park, offers a stunning view of Charles Bridge and the Old Town, just from a different angle. The original pizzeria concept has been altered and visitors today can select from creative variations from international, Italian and Czech cuisine. The restaurant also has a terrace available, from which the guests may enjoy beautiful views of Charles Bridge. The terrace seats 160 and there are 300 more seats inside the restaurant.
